Info required on Lt-Col M F Nickle ( OC 78th FG ) - KIA in action

Good night for all!
I tried to find the full name and USAAF service number of this officer, but got no joy...
Any information on the FULL name of Lt-Col NICKLE and his service number would be welcomed; as well as about the condecorations received, or previous career.

Just got the first name...
42-7961P-47DHQWZ-MMcNickleLt.Col. Melvin F Lost in this a/c 30 July 43 POW135
and..he was not KIA...just POW at Stalag Luft III ( Sagan ).
Now it will be easy...
Anyway...any information on his background would be welcomed..
