Autopilot in Bf 110 G night fighter?

Hello,

I have tried to find information about one-axis autopilots (e.g. LGW Siemens K23 or Patin PKS12) installed in Bf 110 G, but could find no information whatsoever in any book I checked. Also the otherwise excellent Monogram Close-Up about the Bf 110 G does not mention anything about autopilots in the Bf 110 G.

The Bf 110 G-2 displayed at RAF Hendon was equipped with such an autopilot: its control stick has the corresponding toggle switch on the left and a switch integrated into the grip with which the pilot could fly left or right turns.

I am interested to find out how many Bf 110 were equipped with such auto pilots. Was it limited to a certain subtype or manufacturer?

Regards,
Roger

Hi SES,

I know that website. While there are photos of autopilot equipment and also manuals, there is no information about the installation of Jägerkurssteuerung in the Bf 110. I guess such information could only be found in e.g. the NASM archives at Washington. I have spend several weeks there but focused more on the Me 262 and unfortunately did not check for documents about the Bf 110.

Regards,
Roger
