Re: Royal Rumanian Air Force losses 26th.July 1944
There were no claims made by the USAAF for a Ju-88 in the MTO on July 26, 1944. The RAF made only one claim on this date, a Ju-88 between 0800 and 0935, 100 m SE of Malta, shared by two pilots of 1435 Squadron flying Spitfire IXs.

Re: Royal Rumanian Air Force losses 26th.July 1944
Did the USAAF have any pilots that did not return (KIA) in the area of the Ju 88? I've read of two incidents on the eastern front were the wrong pilot recieved the HSU for actions that the survivors misinterpreted. One incident in which a Il-2 pilot was shot down in the Leningrad area in which VVS records show from AAA but I found a JG54 claim for the day at the same height, time and location. Sometimes credit is missed in wartime.
