Luftflotte 1 raids on 20-21.07.41
 

Hello to all!
What was the Ju-88 losses of the Lfl.1 units on 20-21 july 1941?
On these days have been Luftwaffe big scale attacks on Leningrad and airfields. Soviet VVS has claimed 10 Bf-110 and 5 Ju-88 on 20 july and 7 Bf-110 on 2 july.
Could anyone report circumstances of ZG26 Bf-110 losses on 20.07.41? On 20 or 21 july (date uncertain) V.P. Klyckov from 19 iap claimed 2 Bf-110 (one by ramming) - maybe one Bf-110 is his victim.

Ju-88 must be from KG76 or KG77 - maybe someone knows exact losses on 20-21 july 1941?

2/ 21-7 9/KG77 Ju88A-5 crew of Oblt Drenke injured

3/ 21-7 5/KG77 Ju88A-5 50% in crash landing crew safe

4/ 21-7 3/ZG26 (Leningrad) Bf110E-2 3U+CL 3892 Ff Uffz Muller Bf Gef Pukauer missing last message '' Steige aus''

Report dated 25-7-41

21-7 2/KG77 Ju88A-5 2289 75% at Sarjetsche Bf and Bs wounded.


These are the best I can make out and may not be complete hopefully someone with better copies may be able to confirm or add to, a start at least,

Bringing together all data on loss and claims on 20.07.41 I reached the following conclusions:
7 (428) iap (regiment) claims – 3 Bf-110 (lt. Dargis P., lt. Nikitin A., lt. Chemodanov A.), 2 Ju-88 (second lt. Ovcharenko I., second lt. Petrin A.)
19 iap claims – 3 Bf-110 (lt. AntonovM.+??, lt. Klykov V. – 2 Bf-110, one by ramming)
158 iap claims – 3 Bf-110 (lt. Pokryshev P., lt. Nikolskiy V., lt. Chirkov A.), 3 Ju-88 (lt. Bulaev A., lt. VasiljevV.+lt. Jakovlev, secondlt. CheredkovN.+ secondlt. Chuvashev)

Luftwaffe losses (thanks to Brian Bines):
1) Bf110E-2 1./ZG26 3U+LH W.Nr. 2379 aircombat FF Uffz Hahn, BF Gef Baas MIA
2) Bf 110E-1 1./ZG26 3U+KH W.Nr. 4094 aircombat FF Uffz Vogelsang, BF Gef Bartke MIA

Total 1 lost Ju-88 – 5 soviet claims, 2 lost Bf-110 – 9 soviet claims.

VVS losses in combat against Ju-88 and Bf-110:
19 iap second lt. Beljakov V. forced landing, unhurt, MiG-3;
19 iap lt. Karpov E. parachute, unhurt, MiG-3;
19 iap lt. KlykovV. parachute after ramming, unhurt, LaGG-3;
158 iap lt. Jakovlev shut down own AAA, parachute, unhurt, Jak-1;
158 iap lt. Bulaev A. damaged engine, Jak-1;
158 iap second lt. Avershin L. shut down own AAA killed in forced landing;
158 iap second lt. Chueshev A. KIA;
158 iap lt. Vershinin N. shut down KIA.

ZG26 and KG76 claims don’t known.

Also have been lost:
19 iap lt. Gneushev M. shut down in combat, LaGG-3 (time 16.25 in summary #57 of the Nord front airforce headquarters) – obviously corresponds with claim - Oblt. Philipp Hans II./JG54 I-18 - 14:30.
19 iaplt. Romanov T. MIA, MiG-3 (time 19.25 in summary #57 of the Nord front airforce headquarters) – obviously corresponds with claim - Ltn. Beißwenger Hans II./JG54 I-18 - 18:50.

No matches found:
Ltn. Götz Hans I./JG54 SB-3 - 10:25.
Oblt. Mütherich Hubert II./JG54 I-16 - 17:45.

On 16Jul41(Don't have the time) the KBF 1 MTAP had 6 DB-3 make a bombing raid (I don't know the target) but they had 3 losses. I know the KBF 71 BAP was also operating that day. I have have only found Uffz Herbert Rollwage 4./JG53 claiming a SB-2 (Turned down for no witness) no time and location. The other possible ones that could have made the claims are Uffz Erwin Stalp 6./JG54 18:50 SB-2. Lt. Hans Beisswenger 6./JG54 forced landed after an air battle on Bf 109F-2 (9538) but I don't know if he engaged bombers or fighters. So is Stalp possibly the one that engaged 1 MTAP from the time. If so he claimed only 1 of 3 unless Beisswenger got them and didn't see them go down.

What is your source for 1 MTAP and 71 BAP operations on 16 july? In OBD (personal losses database) I cannot find any losses for 16.07.41.
15.07.41 - 3 crew of 1 MTAP lost
16.07.41 - 1 crew of 205 SBAP lost
17.07.41 - 2 crew of 1 MTAP lost, 1 crew of 7 TBAP lost

My mistake on the date (Bad habit of scribling to many notes all over one sheet of paper). On www.bellabs.ru the article "Archive 51-Mine-Torepedo Regiment KBF" by Miroslav Morozov was were I found the information. The correct date listed was the 17Sep41 and the target area was Uritsk-Ligovo(?). Lt. Borzov led 6 DB-3 and lost 3 to fighters. The OBD has one crew lost for that date under 1 AP KBF but to antiaircraft fire. I have found a few of his dates wrong in the article before and had to double check to find the right date. The Luftwaffe units have two DB-3 claims on the 17Sep41 but at different times and no location. On 19Sep41 there are claims for 3 SB-2 in the Uritsk area in the morning.
