Trying to work out if photo 1 was of JG77 in Northern Norway/Finland in 1941? Seen a similar photo elsewhere?

That's what I think: most probably 4U+4K of 2.(F)/123, remember the picture of Oblt. Heinz Fischer, a G-4/R3 taken in Greece 1943, published in Lufwaffe in Focus! And that one is a G, too. Going a little bit farther I would say the markings underwing are: 4+U and K+4 ... hummmm just a suggestion and if I'm able to read the "left" wing. to Mark, It smells what you say, Mark. I agree, but difficult to spot an equivalent with more clues... Maybe later. And if I'm not wrong that seller is selling JG 77 since long, but I'm not tracking it/him; just the way he's displaying the picture. Cheers, Franck. |
Re: 26/04 - Bf109s on eBay
Well, comparing the too pictures - that ebay one and Fisher one - I would say it's same place, same time. And looking well the left wing, there is no doubt we can see the fuel tank holds.... a Bf109G-4/R3 too.
