Circumstances of 226 SQ Battle loss in Jan., 1940 in France?

Hello,

Two questions:

1) On P. 174 of the Chris Shores book "Fledgling Eagles" is a photo of 226 SQ Battle K7705, MQoK, apparently taken in France in late 1939, or the beginning of 1940. Records indicate that it was collected by No.1 Salvage
Section on 29 January 1940, so it was an early casualty which, for whatever reason, didn't find its way into the Operations Record Book and ended up becoming one of the many "Presumed abandoned in France 5.40". Does anyone know the original source of this photo, and could anyone provide me with an image from an original print?

2) Does anyone know the circumstances of this a/c being written off (crew, location, date), and the ultimate disposition of it?

Thanx,

Larry,

Somehow K7705 is mentioned as having ended up in RAAF service instead..
See http://www.adf-serials.com/2a22.shtml

More info to confirm this is welcome.

Leendert
