Hi guys

OK, completely 'off topic' but I would be interested in what others think and have to say on the subject of Bin Laden's death.

Obviously a man with very evil intentions (in the eyes of the West) and IMHO the world is a better place without him and his ilk.

However, admitted assassination of any person must have legal repercussions, hasn't it? Is it not a crime in international law? And now with the admission that Bin Laden was unarmed when shot dead, surely that constitutes a war crime?

Over to others for their opinions.

Hard to believe that fact will come to light. For many he is just CIA agent who did good job in Afgan war against Soviets. He have too much money and influence to be shoot just like that. Image shown in public is just fake. Most stupid is the pubic note that he was drop in sea during burial ceremony as the tradition demand this. Tradition demand to be buried in soil warped in white fabric. But if he is in sea, nobody will be able to proof is he really or not. I know that officials declared that DNK analyze proof his identity but we have also expert who give 'proof analyze' of the dead people in village Racak, which caused attack on my country (so no way to trust in similar info again).

This is just intro in something but it is hardly to guess what...

It would seem more logical to fake his death, then whisk him away to a quiet spot so any information, that might prevent future attacks, could be extracted. Killing him suggests he either had no extra information or what he had is not judged to be in the public interest. Taking him prisoner in public brings a whole range of problems, I expect this like the killing of JFK will long be discussed.

There has been no admitted assassination, as in a deliberate preplanned killing. Knowledge of suicide bomber techniques meant that if he was clothed, possibly concealing a bomb, he was more likely to be shot and instantly 'disabled'. Any body, particularly arm, movements would increase the possibility of that shooting.

Britain set a precedent with the Gibraltar killings: the IRA suspects raised their hands in the air when challenged. The SAS apparently interpreted this as a prelude to setting off a remote-controlled bomb and shot them anyway.

I'm not sure just how one might surrender to special forces — I rather suspect you can't.

just a counter-question :

how many unarmed people were killed in the name of Bin Laden without being involved in a war ?

My opinion is :
Bin Laden did not deserve a public forum like a court to defend his islamo-terroristic ideologies and actions - he would have turned this court into his personal Mecca. No doubt - he wanted a war against the western world, so he got a war and he died in his war.
