Baedeker He 111 loss 28.4.42

Hi all:

Another Baedeker raid period enquiry for you.

On 28 April 1942, He 111H-5 Werk-Nr.4034, 5J + MU of 10/KG.54 failed to return from a sortie over Britain and the crew of four including pilot Hauptmann Eberhard Hennings, Staffelkapitan, were reported missing.

Does anyone know what operation this He 111 was taking part in ? Is it possible to confirm it was part of the Norwich raid of 27-28 April ?

I think you mean 10./KG4 and not 10./KG54.

Yes, sorry Rudi, slight finger trouble in my haste to set this post down! KG.4 it is. I know it was missing from operations over Britain, but what was the target?

Hope one of the gen merchants here can come up with more clues.
