Boston Mk. III (W8318) radio identification letter
 
I looking for the identification letter of the Boston Mk. III of RCAF 418 squadron how crashed on the 18th of may 1942 near the Dutch town of Murmermoude.

Maybe someone can help me with the ORB for the 418th of this day, or maybe some other information about this plain are crash

I'm not very good at Dutch geography, but I have one possible candidate for this Boston.

W8318 of 418 Squadron was lost night of 17/18 May 1942 on a mission to Leeuwarden. It may have crashed near Akkerwoude, but this is not confirmed. I believe this was the only 418 Squadron loss that night. Sorry, don't have the code letter.

Hello René,

I've consulted the ORB of 418 Squadron quite a few times for some other issues and during that period individual letters and even serials weren't listed in the ORB IIRC.
