Dosch, Uffz. Herbert
Has any got any further information on this pilot? He flew with 5./JG 1. He claimed two victories in Feb 1944. He is listed as crash-landing on Feb 20/44, then WIA on Feb 22/44. I find no further record, so I am wondering if he never returned to action or survived the war?

Re: Dosch, Uffz. Herbert
Hi
He was formerley of JGR.West. Made two claims a P-47 on 8th February 1944 at 1230 hrs 3000 metres, and an unconfirmed B-17 on 10th February 1944 at 1135 hrs North-East of Osnabruck. He made his first flight on 2nd January 1944, and his last on 2nd May 1945, ending the war flight the He162. May have made some claims over Russian aircraft in 1945. S/D twice first time on 20th February 1944, belly-landing his Fw190 near Gottingen, Germany(unharmed), second two days later when he bailed-out wounded from his Fw190 over Wesel, Germany. Re: Dosch, Uffz. Herbert
Hi John
Like John I believe he survived the war, however I don't know if he is still alive, obviously unlikely, but I do have about fifteen years of post war deaths from a periodical, and he's not amongst those, so unlikely to have died in the 1990's. Regards Johannes |
