Me109 lost in France in March 1941
In the very early hours of 22nd March 1941 a Hampden bomber of 49 squadron returning from a raid on the Bordeaux area, claimed to have shot down a Me 109 over Brittany and saw it hit the ground earning them a barrel of Beer on their return to RAF Scampton. Is there any way of fining out any more about the Me 109 involved in this particular incident, i.e. Squadron, pilot etc?
Thanks, Allan |

The only 109 loss I have for that day is a bellylanding for a II./JG 54 machine.
