Uffz Walter Aretz + 18.07.1944
 

Hi All,

Can anyone help regarding the loss of Uffz. Walter Aretz on the 18th July 1944. It is believed that Walter was a pilot, possibly from 6/ZG26 but not 100% certain. Can anyone supply me with the aircraft loss details regarding Walter Aretz??

Hello Melvin,

Uffz Walter Aretz, born 8. Jan. 1922 in Duisburg, was KIA 18. July 1944 near Parchim in combat. No further information in NVM.

He was a pilot in 6./ZG 26 flying a Me 410 B2, Werknummer 420.440, coded 3U+BP. His Bf Uffz Herbert Meyer was also killed.

The aircraft had the Stammkennzeichen DW+IA and its BAL-Abnahme was on 22.1.1944.
