Hptm Johannes Geismann

Could anyone tell me when Hptm Johannes Geismann (DKiG, RK) remustered as a nightfighter pilot and what nightfighter unit(s) did he fly with (IV/NJG1 and/or IV/NJG6?).

He was awarded the RK on 21Dec42 whilst serving with 1/KG77, prior to that he flew with 1/Kü.Fl.Gr.606.

Johannes Geismann became nightfighter pilot in late 1944.

Andy,

According to the brief bio in Obermaier's "Die Ritterkreuzträger der Luftwaffe, Band I," Geismann was posted to IV./NJG 1 at the end of 1944. He flew mostly night ground attack missions and by war's end had become a Staffelkapitän, although which staffel is not mentioned. He claimed no arial victories.
