Looking for photos of the crash-landing of Ju88A B3+LL of 3./KG54 on a dike near Amsterdam on the night of 18-19 Sept., 1940
Hello,
For possible a/c profile for the EOE books series, I'm looking for photos of 3./KG54 Ju88A-1 WNr. 4058 of Lt. Palliari which force-landed and broke its back on the night of 18-19 Sept. 1940 at a place locally known as Zeeburgereiland, but was in fact better known as Schellingwoude seaplane base near Amsterdam, Netherlands. It had a diagonal white fuselage band behind the wing roots and carried the codes B3+LL. It also probably carried the KG54 "Death's Head" insignia on the nose, although the latter in not certain. I know of only one poor quality photo of of this a/c which appears on Page 53 of Radtke's "Kampfgeschwader 54." There are some farmer's sheds in the background. Does anyone know of a source for other photos of this aircraft? Regards, |
