It looks like it has a couple points of movement. Swivels at the bottom and then the threaded shaft.
Just a guess here, but maybe part of the tail wheel retracting mechanism?

Having a couple points of movement should narrow it down to what areas it could be part of. Maybe could also part of the canopy sliding mechanism.

Re: FW190 Longnose unknown part

all references (i have seen so far) to a "W" in manual or ersatzteil liste ar for tools. With a company name like junker it would make w number and a company abbreviation as in ju

ig a special wrench for a junkers 87 would be Ju W4 005.

Re: FW190 Longnose unknown part

Hello,

I can only add another wild guess: It seems to me that for retracting the tail wheel or actuating the cockpit hood that gadget would work too slowly. So I suggest it could be a part of the adjusting mechanism of the horizontal stabilizer. The Me 109 had a similar Spindel for that purpose.

Regards,
