Eastern Front Fw 190 loss 14.02.1943?
Hi all,
I am trying to establish a Luftwaffe loss for the son of a Russian fighter pilot who claimed a Fw 190 on the 14.02.1943 in the Lenningrad area. According to my source there were two waves of Stuka Ju 87 dive bombers with escort on this mission escorted by fighters. His fathers victory was according to him the only Fw 190 loss on this day in that area. Can anyone confirm this story for us please? Kind regards Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com |

At the eastern front only 2 Fw 190 of JG 54 damaged this day (each 10%) when belly landing due engine trouble, als 1 Ju 87 forced landed due engine trouble (source GQM files)

I found a source that the 3 GIAP KBF had dogfight with Ju 87s and FW 190s in head on passes claiming 7 Ju 87 and 1 FW 190. It gives the German losses as in damage as:
Ju 87R-2 (wkr. 6013) from 1./StG5 damaged by AAA NW of Krasnogvardeysk. Ju 87R-4 (Wkr. 5771) 2./StG5 damaged by AAA NW of Krasnogvardeysk. Ju 87R-4 (Wkr. 6268) from 3./StG5 damaged by AAA, and totally wrecked with a forced landing in the Konashovi region. FW 190A-4 (Wkr. 145806) Stab/JG54 which received damages from AAA, making a forced landing in Vedenskiy region. |

hm in the GQM files both Fw 190 of Stab JG 54 given as belly landed due engine trouble (damage 10% each) - 145806 west of Wedenskoje, the Ju 87 6268 emergency landing due AA fire (my mistake here) near Konaschewo, 6013 and 5771 both listed in the GQM files january 31st 1943 as damaged by AA fire near Krasnogwardeisk
