Ju 88 dam, 30/1/42
 

Sgts DA Barry & IS MacKenzie (RAAF), 504 Sqn, shared this claim, made at approx 10.45 off Ballyquintin Point, Northern Ireland. Can someone tell me what the fate of this a/c was?

Hi Bruce,
could be Ju 88 D-1 WNr. 1159 S4+CK of K.Fl.Gr. 506. Uffz. Orth Alois F, Obgefr. Eckardt Fritz B, Uffz. Beth Adolf Bf all missing in action Obgefr. Bardeleben Gerhard Bs killed. Unfortunately no other info.

I think S4+CK came down in the sea 20 miles N/E off Cromer with the body of the Bs being picked up that day,it overflew the trawler Fylder in a snowstorm and crashed into the sea. The 504 Sqd. claim has been previously identified in a Thread by Tony Kearns dated 6-Sept-2010 ( 3(F)/123 )with post from Matti Salonen showing Bf Uffz Franz Samhaber wounded .
