Two Ju87 (?) crashed in Nantes, France, on 16 Oct 1942
On this date, 2 Ju87s(?) on a training flight collided above Nantes and crashed in the city. Both crews and 3 civilians were killed.
My source is a French newspaper article published 40 years later, in 1942, and I wonder if the two aircraft and their crew can be identified. AFAIK these "Ju87" may be any biplace aircraft. Thanks in advance Laurent |

Thanks a lot John. The French researcher that pointed these two crashes to me will be happy.
Laurent Edited: the Volskbund grave service agrees with your date (17/Oct/42). The four men above were killed at Nantes on this day and are buried in the German war cemetery of Pornichet, near La Baule. A notable difference is that the second gunner name on the Volskbund is Max Springinklee rather than Otto Springinsklee in your list. I think the Volksbund is more accurate than loss lists. |
