15.(Span)/JG 27

Hi,

I'm looking for claims of 15.(Span)/JG 27. Pilots of this staffel claimed 10 soviet a/c's: 6 by Major Angel Salas Larrazabal, 3 by Carlos Alessandri Bayo and 1 by unknown for me pilot. Any information (dates, names, places, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mihail.

Re: 15.(Span)/JG 27

Due to Spanish sources, Comandante Angel Salas Larrazabal claimed an I-18 not on 6 Oct 1941 (as per Prien), but on 7 Oct 1941; and Capitan Provicional Carlos Bayo Alessandri claimed a DB-3 not on 18 Oct 1941 (as per Prien), but on 17 Oct 1941. (And probably not "Alesandri" as per Prien, but Alessandri.)

Four of the 14 victories noted by Prien were aircraft destroyed on the ground, according to this Spanish source. Larrazabal was credited with 6 air and 2 ground kills, and Alessandri with 3 air and 1 ground kill.

Prior to WW II, Larrazabal was credited with 16 1/3 victories in the Spanish Civil War, Alessandri with 11 victories in the Spanish Civil War, and Arriaga with 7 victories in the Spanish Civil War.
