Pilot Training in South Africa

Can anyone point me in the right direction for trying to discover more about the pilot training operations in South Africa during the war ? I am trying to uncover more about the death of Flt. Lt David Bamford RAF who died on 6th August 1941 and is buried in Benoni Cemetery.

Thanks

Nick
