P51 44-14936 + 1st Lt. T. COOK 27.11.44
Hi to all,
For my book, I'm looking informations about P51 44-14936 ( 360th FG - 356th FS ) crashed for unknow reason in Belgium ( Ecaussines ) on 27th november 1944. Its pilot, Lt T. COOK, was injured but survived. Unfortunatelly, no MIA because this part of Belgium was yet free. Does anybody have information about this crash ( report, witness, ... ) or know personal data about 1st Lt COOK ? Thanks in advance. Christophe |

You have your Group and Squadron the wrong way round Christope. Lt. Cook was in the 360th FS of the 356th FG. He came from Akron, Ohio and joined the squadron in October 1944. He broke his arm bailing out due to engine failure on 27 November and did not return to operational duty until April.

Wreckage parts displayed in Ecaussines Local museum.
It seems another P-51 crashed in the same area (Mignault) perhaps causing confusion. |
