Re: Captured I-153 photo

I have dozens of original photos of captured I-153s, but unfortunately not this one. Why is this so special?

Hi Denes,

Hundreds were captured but only few (12?) were utilized by Germans.

Ten planes were overhauled and used as trainers. In 1942 these planes were sold to Finland.
Two were displayed as trophies, one in Berlin and one in Paris.
list of these planes:

Nr. 6454 => IT-22
Nr. 6514 => IT-23
Nr. 6627 => IT-24
Nr. 7046 => IT-25
Nr. 7058 => IT-26
Nr. 7141 => IT-27
Nr. 8161 => IT-28
Nr. 8232 => IT-29
Nr. 8245 => IT-30
Nr. 8252 => IT-31
??? => Berlin Exhibit (Red 3)
Nr. 7277 => Paris Exhibit (Red 9)

Photo shows one of those planes...

Photos of other captured I-153s with red tail tip would be interesting too. Do you have any?

Do you have any info who is the seller auction-factory*de?

Cheers,
KL

Hi
I-153s with red or blue tips were captured in North-Western Front, probably there were from 148. IAP, there were several photos from this airfiled with such fighters, some of them were edited in Barbarossa's Victims in 2001.
Next "depot" of I-153 was in Minsk were about 30 or so, but these planes were destoryed, Minsk airfiled had the most know photos from 1941.

Yes, I have a few. Contact me off board for details.

The seller behind auction*factory sold his business a while ago. I don't believe he made any scans of the photos he sold, as he is not a historian, but a militaria seller oriented towards profit.
