Re: German Spitfire
Not the left hand two, which is a Mk IX or XII or thereabouts. (Someone will put me right!)
I think I have seen a colour shot of this later Spit in German markings somewhere before. |
Re: German Spitfire
Rather looks like a Mk XI ( certainly not IX or XII !)

Re: German Spitfire
Serial 3277

Re: German Spitfire
Peglar - the Spitfire on the right is indeed N3277 and is a Spitfire Mk I. It has nothing to with the Spitfire in the other two images.

Re: German Spitfire
Peglar: Are you saying the photos came from Ernst-Albrecht Schulz or he 'shot' the Spitfire down?

yes. i know this ! Are you saying the photos came from Ernst-Albrecht Schulz or he 'shot' the Spitfire down? Stands on the backsite of the Foto - Schulz downed them to a belly Landing - not shot down. Fuel must be empty too. Spit TK e9 we called Fotoaufklärer or Reconnaissance |
Re: German Spitfire
some more

Re: German Spitfire
Thank you Peglar. I'm afraid your first post didn't make it clear that the Spitfire on right of the the series of images had nothing to do with the others!!
