Gerald Kuddock?

Hi,

We are trying to find out more info regarding this bomb-aimer which was sent to us from one of our contacts. The image is believed to be of Gerald Kuddock, he is standing under the bomb symbols which are painted on his Wellington bomber. If anyone can tell us more we would greatly appreciate it. One last thing, Gerald survived the war so he is not to be found on the CWWG site.

Kind regards

Melvin

Hello,

This chap is probably your man:

1321481/128421 Gerald Frank RUDDOCK RAFVR.

See: BCL5/380 (No.619 Sqn. Lancaster I ME855) for fate.

Col.

Hi Col,

You could be right, Ruddock rather than Kuddock! Will have to check the Sqdn ORB to see when Gerald Ruddock was posted to No.619 Sqdn and from where!

Thanks again for the lead and of course your time, much appreciated.

Regards

Melvin

G.F. Ruddock who's wartime address was 16 Alforton Ave., West Green, London. N15. was a Flight Lieutenant Bomb Aimer for the Gunter crew of 619 Squadron Lancaster ME855 that was shot down 12/13 Aug 44, Operation to Brunswick.

Flight Lieutenant Ruddock and my father were POW's together in Stalag Luft III.

There are 50 prisoners named in my father's POW "Wartime Log." https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/pow-log/

I am attempting to find a wartime photograph of each individual, so far I have found 23. My efforts so far can be seen here. https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/other-pows/

I am hopeful that through this website I can find the wartime photograph of G.F. Ruddock that was mentioned in this thread and hopefully a little more information.

Regards, David Layne.

As well as a photograph of Gerald Ruddock I would also like to find a photograph of his aircraft's captain, Louis Gunter. Gunter, Ruddock and my father Walter Layne were POWs together.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
