Seeking Combat details for Wally Churches
In a few different books I have seen P/O Wally Churches (Edward Walter Churches) of 74 Sqn be credited with shooting down a 109 on 18 March 1941, but I can't find a combat report for it or any other information. Does anyone here have any clues?

Bf 109 destroyed SW Folkestone 1335 hrs. John Foreman seems to think this was a combat with 6/JG 51 and one Bf 109 c/l at Wizernes. This might help: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/d...e=1&mediaarray=*

Re: Seeking Combat details for Wally Churches
Thank you Chris, appreciate that!
Unfortunately, although it lists the 18 March on the Achives site, it isn't actually in there. :( |
Re: Seeking Combat details for Wally Churches
The combat report is at Air 50/32-62&63; that is, frames 62&63 of the microfilm, which would be the numbers stamped on the report.
Enjoy! Frank. |

Thanks Frank. It's not on the website so will have to visit the actual building. :)
