I note that at least two German reconnaissance aircraft were lost over the German/Russian border prior to the invasion on 22/6/41 - a Ju86P on 15/4/41 and a Ju88 of Sobderkommando Rowehl in June 1941. Has anyone any details?


And has anything more come to light on the Erich Sommer close-shave with Messerschmitts from the training school at Biaritz? What unit was Sommer serving with? What training unit was involved. And what was the date of the incident?

I also wish to know the crew identities and fates of a He111 of 51 Wekusta shot down on 12/6/40; also code markings. Thanks
