12 O'Clock High! forum has upgraded!
 

Although I decided to skip two minor version upgrade (3.0.8 and 3.0.7) it was time to make the most of Jelsoft's latest release of vBulletin 3.5.0 and take the plunge!

It looks like all went as planned (that's the reason why we have tests).

If it had not been for three minor issues the upgrade could have been called easy. The worst problem was solved within 24hrs of me having posted the question on Jelsoft's forum. A beautiful example of great customer service. There hasn't been a moment of second thought when it comes to acquiring a full licence for vBulletin.

Although functionality has been enhanced (incl. a built in spell checker), the look has remained the same so you will hardly notice.

The code is more secure, so your (personal) data should be better protected as well.

For once I will disagree with a moderator (!!) :) - the technology, although vital, is secondary to yourself for giving us this forum (and its predecessor) in the first place.

Personally, I have learnt a lot over the years - and, no doubt, that applies to lots of other "amateur" historians using your facilities.
