ANR Z506B shot down 13 October 1943
 

Hi guys

I have a note that an ANR Z506B was shot down by Beaufighters near the island of Castelrozzio on 13 October 1943. Apparently it ditched but later sank.

I can't seem to find any information on this incident. Can anyone help, please? Might it have been a Co-Belligerent machine shot down in error?

Maybe you have a wrong date:
1943-12-14, 2./SAGr. 125, Cant Z 506, Mitte Caso-Straße/Kreta, Beschuß von 4 Beaufighter. Bruch 100 %.

Of interest, 14 Dec combat was south of Stampalin(?) at 1625 hrs. Shot down by Sgt K Thomas/Sgt W N Hartley in 'J' and Sgt G R Willis/Sgt D P Thompson in JM410/E

However, I do have the 14 December loss recorded etc.

My notes specificially state 13 October and it seems likely that this was a Co-Belligerent Z.506B shot down in error. I have received information that suggests this may be so, but nothing conclusive yet.
