Ah, that one… If I’m not wrong this victory is dated 17/5/1941 and the victory is shared between two (or more) pilots. One part for “the other(s)” of 5000BRT and one part for that plane’s pilot for 1500BRT.
Liesendahl shared 2500BRT that very same day. Hence the same boat profile we can see on his “Blue 1”, for example. White and Black of course since it’s a shared victory but no 5000BRT inside the white part, and 2500BRT written outside the black part of boat profile.
Any clew for the present one??
It seems that, still on 17/5/1941, just after the Liesendahl hit, the staffel did claim a 6000/6500 BRT cargo either by strafing and/or bombing; that does explain the 5000/1500 balance.

Re: Nice JG2 pictures on ebay

Hi Guys,

#3 (again) Lt. Christian von Schlieffen, 7./JG 2.
#12 (again) I talked about Liesendahl Blue 1 - 10.(Jabo)./JG 2 - as example ... In fact I discovered that in July 1941 - still in 6./JG 2 - the displayed victories where quite different in particular the First and the Third. (See Mombeeck JG 2 Vol 2, page 80 (around)). After this period, Liesendahl got an accident and wasn't able to fly before the end of that same year when 10.(Jabo)/JG 2 was created...
It seems, most probably, that his three first scores were repainted more or less by memory, the accidented machine being more or less lost, on the new machines with slight modifications. I wrote machines since - at least - WNr.7629 (Blue 1) and WNr.12672 did display the same aspect. (see picture)

Whatever, this does change nothing about the present eBay picture.

#9 & 10: Egon Mayer???

Cheers, Franck.
