The French planes with white stripes on wings... Well, they have Vichy markings on cowlings. I have a photo of 2 Me 109F leaving Africa ( JG53) with those white stripes on wings. I was told "long time ago" it was a marking for an operation when planes were transferred from Africa to French. Really do not remember more the history (I know photos of Do 217 - or 215 - with those stripes also). Maybe those Vichy planes wears that same markings?

The captured Ju 88 is a nice photo, notice also the Me 109F (?) on background!
