Gefreiter Dreher of 8./Jg300
 

Hi

I have never been able to establish the forname of this 8./Jg300 pilot. I suspect he is the Obergefreiter Alfons Dreher an Austrian pilot born on 25th January 1921 and killed on 18th November 1944 over Duren, but cannot prove it.

Can anybody please enlighten me.

Grateful for any help.

Hi Johannes,

are you sure with the Fw 190-equipped 8. Staffel/Jagdgeschwader 300 ?
Can't find him within the Lorant/Goyat, JG 300-book nor the JG 300.de-page. What has he done so far away from Löbnitz ??
Thought the first loss of new 8th was on 23th November 1944 (Horwarth) ?

No loss with the name Dreher on this date and the nearly dates in my list with the active fighter units.

in 44 the Luftwaffe (known pilots, crewmembers) lost (KIA; WIA, POW) 7 people named Dreher, but none of them with the first name Alfons, or this date of birth.

No Loss in the Dueren area at this date from JG 300 or FF Dreher.
