Fi156 / Bf110 ground incident
 

On eBay here there is a picture of a ground accident involving a Fieseler Fi156 and Messerschmitt Bf110. The seller identified the Fi156 as belonging to 3.(H)/Aufkl.Gr.21 and the photograph taken over the winter of 1941/2. No codes/emblems are visible on the Fi156. However the Bf110 is coded 8H+HK of 2.(F)/Aufkl.Gr.33. Are there any further details on this incident?

The likely suspects:

22.March 1942, Wjasma

Bf 110E-3 WNr.2339

collided with

Fi 156C-3 WNr.5328 (SKZ may be NB+YE)

Many thanks for the info. I have another photo of the incident which appears to have a P2+__ code on the Fi156, although it still could be stkz NB+YE.

In the loss GRM refers to however, the 110 is from Stab/St.G.2, though it was not totally unusual for units 'share' machines in some situations, or to inherit machines from another unit. Were 2.(H)/33 and St.G. 2 both at Wjasma at any point during Mar-42?

Hi Jim

Thanks for the additional information. I had already noted that 2.(F)/Aufkl.Gr.33 had returned to Germany at the time of this incident (probable conversion). Stab./StG 2 were certainly however at Wjasma at this time, and are recorded with Bf110 a/c. It would seem then that they inherited this a/c and it still had its old code.
