Bodenplatte L-5 125th Liaison Squadron
It is written that on 1 Jan 45 (Bodenplatte) a L-5 of 125th LS was shot down by two Me-109s (JG53) between Liège and Maastricht in which Sgt. William W. Fletcher (buried at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery) was killed and Sgt Owen Stafford was wounded.
Lt. D.K. Neil is mentioned to have been the pilot. He came out safe. Who can fully identify this lieutenant? Regards, Leendert |

John Manrho in "Bodenplatte":
L-1 Vigilant, serial ?, code ?, 125th Liaison Sqdn, Lt D.K. Neil, OK, Maastricht-Liege area, attacked by two "Me 109s", probably JG 4. |

Re: Bodenplatte L-5 125th Liaison Squadron
Leendert,
If you find more info on him or about this crash on 1.1.45 I would be interested. I still believe he might have been the victim of Oblt. Markhoff of II./JG 4, allthough he flew a Fw 190. Cheers, john |
