stuka belly landing or crash area Chartres france

hello,
i was wondering of any of the readers might have info on a incident that happened in the area of chartres france
the incident is a stuka that probably did a belly landing(the part wouldn't be in such a good condition by a crash) the reason why i ask this is because a few years ago i bought a ruder from a stuka that wasn't broken or folded it was still in a very good condition.the previous owner told me the farmer used it as a fence and stayed there many years.
probably french civilians undid this part from the plane
the prev owner also told me that he knew about engine parts that were removed from the plane.
So if there might be someone who could or might have additional info feel free to react.
kind regards
phil

at approximately 2015 June 6, 1944 the 354FS and 357FS of the 355th FG intercepted approximately 15 Ju-87s near Chartres/Janville and decimated the formation.

Several of the Stukas attempted to crash land to escape the Mustangs and this could be one of those.

Bill Marshall

Phil,

You may want to read the text on http://www.lwag.org/forums/archive/i...hp/t-3040.html

Unit appears to have been SG 103.

Hi

Here are Phil’s photos. I am not an aviation engineering expert, but this does look like a Ju87 rudder. For unknown reasons it appears that the RLM 71 dunkelgrün has largely remained in place, but the RLM 70 schwarzgrün has deteriorated and is lost.

Hi Phil

Looking at several profiles and photos, the division between the RLM 71 and the (vanished) RLM 70 looks OK to me.
