Here is what we have about this fellow:


KÄDTLER A. 11.05.40 Oblt., Stab/St.G. 2 KIA - Ju 87 B shot down by 87 Sqdn. between Tirlemont and Leuven.

Tom Kracker's archive says:

Kädtler, Arno. Oblt. - 5/19/1913 - 2/StG-2 Ju 87D "T6 + AK" (lost) Dive Bomber Operational Clasp KIA 11 May, 1940 during the French Campaign, crashing near Koninksem, buried Lommel, Block 15/540. Source: A. rosseels.

thanks for your reply, but now I'm a little confused. What unit is correct, Stab/StG2 or 2./StG2?

And that's what I have about this guy from time period of PC:
08.09.39, I./StG2, FF Olt. Arno Kädtler, BF unknown, Ju 87B-1, W.nr. unknown, FL near Ozarów, damage 70%

29.09.39, I./StG2, FF Olt. Arno Kädtler, BF Uffz. Czerwinski wounded, Ju 87 B-1, W.nr. unknown, hit by AA fire near Nowy Dwór, damage 60-80 %

Yes, I can see why. The Stab/St.G. 2 entry came from the excellent "Battle of France, Then and Now" by Cornwell.

However, those spot references that you obtained from Emmerling seem to clinch that he was definitely with 2./St.G. 2. The Stab reference must be either a temporary assignment or an outright error.

....and Ju 87D must also be an error for May 1940. Do we have a WNr.?
