Operation Cerberus / Channel Dash Is anyone able to point me in the right direction of first-hand accounts from Luftwaffe units supporting Operation Cerberus/Channel Dash, the breakout of the Kriegsmarine units in Brest in February 1942? There's a little in the KG2 history and Galland's memoirs but after that I've drawn a blank - whereas there's quite a lot from the Kriegsmarine side.:( Many thanks. |

Re: Operation Cerberus / Channel Dash Hi Richard, 1./(F)123 were involved in the dash, zig-zagging the convoy in a reconnaissance roll. I have a personal account of one of the pilots involved in the operation which I plan to use in my book regarding this unit. If you can send me a pm with your e-mail address I will send the 1./(F)123 report for your interest. Kind regards Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com |

Re: Operation Cerberus / Channel Dash New Swedish book about the Channel Dash is coming out soon, I've hade contact with the authors, who unfortunatley are leaving out the Luftwaffe activity! |

Re: Operation Cerberus / Channel Dash Hello Max, Thanks for the reminder of the copies which I promised to sent to you! A book about the Channel dash without Luftwaffe sounds like a history of the Blitzkrieg and leaving the panzers out :D All the best, Marcel |

Re: Operation Cerberus / Channel Dash Many thanks for everyone's input. I checked Meimberg's memoirs but he was out of action, recovering from a crash landing the previous year so missed the Dash. |

Re: Operation Cerberus / Channel Dash hi Richard i liked your book "The Germans in Normandy". There is a two volume history and one volume abridged version of JG 26 which has some information on the channel dash. There are also histories of JGs 1 and 2 out there which should also have some information on this event. |
