Bristol Type 142L, Blenheim Mk.IV

Hello all,

I'm looking for some informations about the :

Bristol Blenheim D BL of the 40th squadron or maybe B BL.

The plane crashed on the beach.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Thierry

Thierry,

Without seeing your photo my guess is that it is this one:

6 June 1940 40 Squadron Blenheim IV P4927. Shot down by Bf109s during attack on troops advancing between St-Valéry and Abbeville and belly-landed on beach 10.00 a.m. Possibly that claimed by Uffz Hofelich of 3./JG3. Sgt D. J. Rice, Sgt R. C. Moffatt, and Sgt D. E. Peters captured. Aircraft BL*D a write-off.

If you can add anything to these details, particularly a more exact location, I would be grateful.

Regards,

Peter C

Hello,

Many thanks for those informations. Well i bought some years ago pictures from Le Touquet with german soldiers (Villas...). On some pictures they are on a Blenheim and it is noted Le Touquet on the picture. They arrived on the beach with a Sturmboot (range of 30km). What is sure, is that it is maximum at St Cécile on the northern top because after there schould be some clifs/hills on the background (Etaples/Beauregard - Mont St Frieux - Le Portel...). Or i think it landed within a range of 30 km south of Le Touquet. I have no more informations. On my pictures i have the code BL and a found another picture (the last one) with a B or D...
Here some pictures.
Regards.
Thierry
