Looking for photo showing I./KG77 insignia on nose of Ju88A-1 3Z+DK down with Oblt. Oeser on Sept. 30, 1940 in Britain
Hello,
For profile purposes, I'm looking for a photo showing the nose of the I. Gruppe version of the KG77 flag insignia on the nose of Ju88A-1 3Z+DK, that made a good forced-landing 30.9.40 with Oblt. Oeser and crew on the Gatwick Race Course S. of London. I have three photos of this a/c in the EoE Data Base, but none show the nose area which was carrying this insignia, according the the Intelligence "G" Report on the incident. The a/c was later put on display, and there should be more photos of this one out there. That's all I lack to put together a complete color profile package for this a/c. Can anyone help? The colorful insignia on the nose should have drawn some photography. Regards, |

There are. I have five pictures of the a/c on display in King's Lynn (Norfolk) in December 1940. Unfortunately, some inconsiderate plonker appears to have ripped out the rear cockpit bulkhead complete with FuG and placed it alongside the fuselage beneath the cockpit window where it almost completely obscures the unit badge you describe! PM me and I'll scan the pictures for you if you are interested. BC |
