Belly landed Bf109 11/08/1940
Hi all
I read about a Bf109 of 1./JG51 on "free hunt" over the southern coast of Kent, early in the morning on 11 August 1940. Attacked by three Hurricanes, it would several times been hit (25+, fuselage, canopy, engine). Due to engine failure it then would had to glide from 3000 m over the Channel and belly land on a beach near Calais. I'm looking for an ID of this Bf109 to confirm if the story is true.
