I have been unable to find my answer on the net so I am hoping to see if anybody here has the info RE: III/JG-54: When did it convert from Me-109s to the FW190A? I figure it's 'sometime between the raid on Berlin & the Normandy Landings---but that is as close as I can get. |

Re: A ?? RE: III/JG-54...
Hi.
The first FW 190´s are reported as on strength with III./JG 54 in the strength report of 10.5.1944. On the preceding report date, 30.4.1944, they had only Bf 109G´s, and on the following one, 20.05.1944, there were only FW 190´s On 10.5. the mix of Bf 109G and FW 190 consisted of 8 Bf 109G of which 6 was ready for action, and 37 FW 190 of which 31 were ready. So they received the FW 190´s between 30.4.1944 and 10.5.1944. Regards, Andreas B |

Thanks to all who replied; any idea if III/JG54 was given a stand down to re-equip, no matter how short?
