Just a note - contrary to a number of published photo captions, JG 51 reported no red Kennzeichen with losses from at least mid-1940 through until around Aug-44, presumably following the expansion to 4 Staffeln per Gruppe. Every loss reported with a code was colored white, black, yellow or brown.

Yes, I was just thnking to correct this and to write JG 52 instead of JG 51.
That's incredible the lot of informations we know which has never been published !!! I started to think recently: 1/ Those who already have published: What they have done? 2/ Those who haven't still published: What are they waiting for to publish and to correct all what has been already published ? #27: This is without doubts CI+EF; W.Nr.3740 (Normally!). Check the picture; Isn't it an E-4/N instead of just an E-4? That picture did remember me another (said) CI+EF picture we downloaded from eBay months ago; the one I join under... Looking at the Stkz and Black cross without talking about the camouflage I wonder if the said picture isn't CI+EE instead, is it? Personally I decided it's CI+EE ! Regards, Franck. |

Hi Stig,
Not a WNr. last digits but some kind of NAG 102 code number habit for what I've "heard" this morning. Hence we have this plane (CI+EE/3739) in 2./JG 26, 7/1941 II./JG 5 in 8/1942 I./NAG 102 in 3/1943 And - it seems - Stab JG 52, 2/1941 too ... Hoping a confirmation about that last one. If that NAG 102 code is true, then we have an E-7 on the said picture. Tschüss, Franck. |
