Me 410 belly land
 
i the Squadron/Signal book on the Me 210/410 their is a picture of a Me 410 theat has belly landed. Date 4 Oct 1944 werk nr 420090 code PP+VG at Gotenhafen/Hexengrund. Does anyone have any more details of this incident ? Was it do to combat? Thanks in advance.

3 pictures of this incident also appear in Petrick and Stocker's illustrated history of the 210/410. No details leading up to the crash landing are provided but it is stated that the aircraft was based at E-Stelle Gotenhafen and was used for torpedo trials.

If the date was Oct-44 then that would explain why this machine didn't show up in the Schulen losses, the last dates for which are for late Sep-44. Of course according to Gerhard Stemmer, in a comment he made in the defunct LW Verbande, many crash photos of machines for non-combat units don't appear to have a corresponding loss in this set of documents.

Two photos of PP+VG, W. Nr. 420 090, on page 176 of Karl Ries Dora "Kurfürst und rote 13" volume 1. Captions say, "1943 crash landing". Used for testing torpedos.
