U-158 and Martin Mariner

Greetings all,

it is well known that U-158 was first submarine sunk by US patrol boat in WW2 but I am afraid that I can not find (on Internet) any image of this particular airplane. Hope that some of you have more info.

Thank you :)

Can't help so far with a picture of the actual airplane, but the PBM-1 Mariner was flown by Lt. Richard E. Schreder of VP-74.

Regards,

Leendert

Did you see this?

We know the aircraft at that time were rather plainly painted. So we need to find out the individual plane number.
