BF 109G-2/R6 Wkno 13927 ("Yellow 6") of Jagdstaffel 6./II./JG5

Hello. I am looking for any photos that may exist of the above machine.

Pilot was Rudolf Fenten, crashed (probable flak) on Feb 19, 1943...POW of the russians.

I understand there may be some pictures in Mr. Mombeek's JG5 books. If someone could even point to the correct band it would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone has the victory score, it would be appreciated. I believe he was of ace status...maybe 5-10 kills.

TY

Unfortunately there are no pictures in the book of his Bf 109 G-2/R6 Yellow 6. He was flying with Lt. Weissenberger, Ofw Rudolf Mueller and Fw Hans Doebrich. You might check for photos of their aircrafts. Unfortunately I don't have access to all my files at this time. Below is what is left of the right wing after the aircraft was recovered.

I have not seen his name on a list of German aces. Reports contained in the book would indicate he was. Once again I'm sorry I don't have my references.

Does anyone know if he is still alive?

TY. I have some related profiles of 6 staffel...but thought I would check if Fentens plane specifically was published in the JG5 books of Mr. Mombeek.

He is I believe still alive.

Yes, I do confirm he is still alive.
He claimed a De Havilland Mosquito from nș 1 PRU, for his first victory. This machine was flown by the "top" recon pilot at that time: F/L Alistair Lennox "Iceman" Taylor, DFC** ( the first RAF Officer to win 3 x DFC!). I contacted him but got no reply. Hope you will be able to establish contact as well. Yours

I tried a few years ago. I sent him some relics from his aircraft after I obtained some pieces. Unfortunately I did not get a response. I understand his desire for privacy and wish him good health.
