Looking for detail surrounding the loss of a LW plane (probably KG53) on 12.10.1944 in Zamoly Ungarn.

That's a definitive typo, place is Zámoly. The particular aircraft was probably Art Fiedler's seventh air victory (reported at Csákvár), although I don't have the very exact locations of the claims from personal encounter reports (there were few other He 111 claims too by Mustangs and other types as well).

Thanks Matti!

That is the one I was looking for. Szech (DKiG) use to be a member of I/KG53.

@ Csaba B. Stenge.

This He111 was supposedly attacked by 4 American fighters.

This one could also have been the victim of 2nd Lt. Jervis V. V. Heimbach of 319th F.S. who claimed a He 111 that day at 14:20 some 32 km W of Budapest, which is about correct for the location of Zámoly.

Re: LW loss on 12.10.1944 Ungarn

In straight line, Zámoly is approx 50 km W, SW from Budapest today. In 1944, the distance was higher, since the external districts in western Budapest were much smaller. A claim from 1944 as 32 km West from Budapest is eastern, than Csákvár.

Also the following were shot down:
1944-10-12, 14./KG 27, He 111H-16/R1, 161925, 1G+PY, 6 km nördlich Balatonfüred, Jägerbeschuß. Bruch ? %.
1944-10-12, 14./KG 27, He 111H-16/R1, 162373, 1G+OY, Rackeve, Jägerbeschuß um 14.30 Uhr. Bruch ? %.

Re: LW loss on 12.10.1944 Ungarn

First is either the success of one of the three pilots of 332nd FG (1 Lt William W Green Jr., Cpt. Wendell O. Pruitt and 1 Lt. Luther H. Smith Jr. each claimed a He 111 near Lake Balaton) or the success of Lt. Hudson from 4th FS/52nd FG who claimed a damaged He 111 in this area or as commonly happened, the same aircraft was attacked and claimed repeatedly by different pilots.
