Aufklärungsstaffel 2./125 in Greece
Hi all,
In the German war diary "Seeflieger der Luftwaffe", I found the below mentioned tactical formation of the squadron 2./125 on 05.15.1941. Question: The names of the pilots, in blue, are well known to me as those pilots which have been flying in the Aegean, in the same formation, after the 15th of December 1941. Those in purple have been displaced to Greece in the Aufkl. Gru. 126. What happened to the rest? Were they still alive after 2./125 arrived in Skaramanga? In which formation did they serve? What happened to the pilots? Thanks in advance for any information. NOTE: The above mentioned war diary, roll T 1022 3336 (765 pages), it will be delivered free of charge to any buyer of my book, “Die Deutsche Luftwaffe in Griechenland 1941-1945” (engl. “The German Air Force in Greece 1941-1945”). Re: Aufklärungsstaffel 2./125 in Greece
Hello,
according to earlier post by Seaplanes, some planes of 2./125 were transferred to 1./125.: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/archiv...hp?t-6022.html he does not say, were planes transferred with or without crews. Hümmelchen, Die deutschen Seeflieger 1935-1945 gives following losses, 70% or above for both these, unfortunately no information about crew names or fate: 24.June 1941 He-60 from 1./125, eigene R-Boote 4.July 1941 Ar-196 from 2./127, Feindeinwirkung 6.July 1941 Ar-196 from 2./127, Unfall 31.July 1941 Ar-196 from 2./127, Feindeinwirkung 2.August 1941 Ar-196 from 2./127, Feindeinwirkung |
