Ar196 (0133) lost 6 December 1943
Hi guys
I have a note that Ar196 (0133) of SA.126 was shot down by a fighter on 6 December 1943, with the loss of Uffz Hoffman and his observer. Can anyone confirm and provide additional information, please? Cheers Brian One of the floatplanes (0133) failed to return, Uffz Hoffman and his observer reported being shot down by a fighter. |

Ar 196A-3 W.Nr. 0133 that was lost on 06.12.43 belonged to 2./S.A.Gr. 128. The aircraft carried the unit markings 6W+MK and was lost in combat with enemy aircraft off. Location not given. Uffz. Alfons Hoffmann (F) and Ltn. Jürgen Scherping (B) were both killed. Ltn. Oskar Schaller was injured.

FWIW the location was: at sea, 20 km south west off Cannes.
