III./KG54 Losses 06-June-1944
I am attempting to ascertain some details relating to a III./KG54 Junkers Ju-88 loss on 06-June-1944.
The machine was piloted by Oberfeldwebel Willi Kuhn, who I am led to believe was captured. Any information on the crew or machine will be very well received indeed. Regards Richard. |

There was no Ofw Willi Kuhn as a pilot. Only this can be found:

Thank you for that information, and it explains quite a lot. I have purchased a set of documents to Luftwaffe Flugzeugfuhrer Oberfeldwebel Willi Kuhns who flew (initially at least) with III./KG54. The seller of the documents alluded that he had carrried out research on this man and that he was made a POW on 06-June-1944, having being shot down attacking the allied invasion fleet while serving in that unit. It appears he located a 'Kuhn' and took it as read. I now have a gap in the research as I was hoping to pin him to a unit at that stage of the war, still I now know his research was far from thorough! Thanks again. Regards Richard. |

A crash site was found near lion sur mer. Was found with some other parts from a German plane (bomb holder with German engraving) Could it be this one?

Can you provide any other information? Did he survive the war? The one below is a long shot.
An Ofw. Wilhelm Kühn went missing, along with his crew, on 28-Sep-43 somewhere along (Charkow-Poltawa). He was with 2.(F)/22. |
