Bf 109 Piece

Hello, could anyone identify this piece found in Ardennes (North of France)?
"323/D343 Th. Klatte, Bremen-Huchfing" |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
Hello again,
The black stuff is a kind of hard leather! Read "Huchting": a town near Bremen. Is there a aircraft factory there? I found on the web in a list of reparations plants from US zone: "Land Bremen. War plants. Theodor Klatte, Huchting near Bremen, plant, aircraft." |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
Only a guess could it be the leather lining the wheel housing or from the Joystick base ?

Re: Bf 109 Piece
I add this too found on the web in a list of prisoner camps in Germany:
Name : Camp VII : ESTERWEGEN Type of commando : PAPENBURG (outside Kommando from EMSLAND) Activities : North Camp: factory RUGES, aircraft factory KLATTE in Bremen and firma HUCHTING But what types of aircraft (parts of the Me 323...?)? |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
Brian,
I didn't think of it: good idea... |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
That is not Me109....
Probably Me323... Mike |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
No. I would say more likely Bramo 323 engine. Almost cerrainly so.
Any Do 17-Z crashes in the area? I have found very similar parts and plates. Those that I found were manufactured by the Eberspacher company and were parts of an exhaust flame-damping system. |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
Arnaud...
Your thoughts on my suggestions about this piece? |
Re: Bf 109 Piece
AH!
I know what it is... It is part of the heat shield that goes behind each clinder of the Bramo 323. I did not recognize it, as it is such a smal piece of it. But 100% that is what it is... Mike |
