Straffing Mission
 

Hello,

Is there a possibility to get soem information about a straffing over Mareuil sur Ourcq by P38 maybe in 1944?
The starffing was on a train containing V1 parts or wounded coming from Normandy Front.
Some .50 cal impacts are still visible on a bridge. Will tray to take pictures.
If someone could help...

YANICK, bonjour et bienvenu.
I fully recommend you some books written by Mr. JEAN HALLADE, which, if me memory does not fail me (my books are back at home, some 400km away) do have a mention of a similar attack on a train containing V1 and V2 parts. I can be wrong...maybe the story related do mention another town, but I would have a careful look at the books published/edited by this author and Resistance member, such as:
1- Dans L'Aisne il y a 40 ans
2- Dans le ciel de Picardie
3- La guerre aérienne et la liberation de Picardie
I do not know if Mr. JEAN HALLADE is still fit. He is very helpful and a true GENTLEMAN. I do hope you will be able to contact him or find his books.

Hello,

I found that:
1943
14 - 15/04 Deux trains sont mitraillés entre Mareuil sur Ourcq et Crouy sur Ourcq.
(April the 14-15 1943, 2 trains are straffed between Mareuil sur Ourcq and Crouy sur Ourcq)

It's coming from "Jean-Pierre BESSE :L'Oise, septembre 1940-septembre 1944"
